I’m looking for instructors worldwide that will help me make a fundraising for CARE’s VSLA groups, or CARE in general.

My idea is; that as many Zumba instructors around the world will teach for free on saturday the 24th of September. All the money that we will collect will all go to CARE’s VSLA fro women in the third world. (If you cant teach on the 24th og September, then choose another day in September or maybe beginning of October)

Last year we were able to get 625 women into VSLA groups, this year I hope for 5 times more with your help.

What is in it for you?

Besides feeling great about helping raising money for a great course. You also have a chance to get into the newspaper or maybe local tv-stations, and that will bring you more students :-)

The reason why it is great news, is because the event takes place all over the world on the same day! This will get their attention and they will have a chance to help raising the money. This is a win win situation for everybody!

What do I need to do?

What I need from you can be as little as one or two classes or a bigger event, where the money that you get in goes to CARE’s safe-loan Groups. Put the information on your website/facebook and/or studio and get people to sign up. Remember to tell your students, ask them to write their e-mail address on a piece of paper or join a facebook group, that you might wanna make and send them details of the event and make the sign up. If you are more instructors that will make the event together, it will be more fun for everybody and you will have more students.

First find a place to have the zumba event/class, try to get it for free. If you like then ask other instructors to participate. Then write me an email with details of you Zumba class (where, when and who is teaching) maybe you can start doing that now?!?!

Contact CARE in your country to let them know what we are planning, hopefully they can help you spread the word (If you dont have a CARE organisation in your country I’ll let you know how to give the money to CARE, so that they know it came from this event) let me know how much money you raised, so we all can see how much we raised together. Also remember to let me know the details for you event. I’ll put it up on my websites.

You are also welcome to make it a little bigger like me. I have room for 300 people in one Zumba class. It is really up to you how much you want to do, but every little effort is received with a smile and a thank you. Together we will make it big.

I’ll make a press release in August that I will send out to everybody to pass on the press in your country (you will have to put your name and times down, ect. You are welcome to add to the press release or chance it as long as the keyinformation is on it. Also since English is not my first language, I’ll appreciate help on this one :-) The BIG news is that it is a worldwide fundraising, and I think that alone will get their attention. This will give you publicity of the best kind.

I’ve have made some banners, that we should all use for the fundraising event for CARE on the 24th of September. They are in English; you can make your own if you like with the same bag ground. (Use the font: Ariel) I have made one two plain banners. (if you can’t download it from this mail or if you need help, contact me)

It will be great if we all use the same banners; so that it is easy to see that we are all in it together!

Make space on your website to advertise the event. Remember to write that it is a worldwide fundraising event for CARE’s VSLA groups and that it was started in Denmark. And that we all link to the women empowered project somehow

NOW THIS IS A PARTY!!!

Come and take part of this first worldwide fundraising event for CARE’s VSLA Groups, which is helping the 3rd world’s women out of poverty, by helpig them creating their own save-loan group for women. Once a woman is part of such a group, her whole life will change.

This is help to self help, and it works – since 1991 7.300 of these groups were started in Niger in Africa. All of the groups exist today and 98% of all loans have been paid back, not to mention that these women no longer are poor, but are now running their own businesses. Niger just had their first democratic election and 31 women from selfhelp groups were running for election, this by itself is amazing.

We got an invitation from Connie Yndal in Denmark to take part of this worldwide event and as soon as we saw what she is supporting, we decided to become part of this. Check out the link for yourself here

YOUR DONATION WILL BE 20 Dollars, 15 Euros or whatever amount you find suitable, sign up here and pay at the door. (UNLESS YOU WILL HAVE ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE PEOPLE PAY!) ALL THE DONATIONS WILL GO TO CARE DIRECTLY. (If 20 dollars are to much, ask for less!)

*here you make a link to your email account for the event I suggest that you will use zumbacare@ your website. (if you have more than one Zumba class, I suggest that you do like me zumbacare12@ your website. If the class starts at 12 etc.)

 

It will be wise to make an automatic reply, which people can print out as their reservation. That way it is easy to see who is already signed up, when they come to the event. You collect the money and the reservations (emails) to check that everything is ok. And you don’t have much administration to do.

 

If you are living in a country where Care is located, you might be able to get a storyteller out if you would like to. Contact Care in your country and let them know that you are part of this world wide event.

 

Hopefully they will mention it on their website, and maybe send out the message to their supporters (This is what is happening in Denmark) my Danish contact is Trine Krogmann, she has written out to all the local care offices last, so they should know about it, contact me if you have a problem (make sure you have the person’s name and maybe e-mail from CARE, that you are in contact with.)

On my website I will write a list of all the Zumba instructors/studios that will be part of this in August, you are welcome to do the same or link to my site, if you like to.

As soon as we have at least 10 instructors from all over the world, which have put up the event on their website. I’ll make the list. I hope that you all have put in these details on you website before the 1st of september.

I’ll will also use the list for the press. Care Denmark is helping me to get press release out, because they already know the press well. When the press clicks in on all the websites, they can quickly tell that this event is in fact worldwide. This will make it much bigger news!
